Agreement

By accessing or using foldfunc, you agree to these terms. If you are using foldfunc on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation. These terms are between you and Veldt Labs.

What foldfunc is

foldfunc is a computational research tool that provides structure prediction, mutation effect scoring, and AI-assisted biological interpretation of protein sequences. All outputs are probabilistic and generated by machine learning models. They are provided for research and informational purposes only.

Not medical or clinical advice

foldfunc outputs are not medical advice, clinical guidance, or a substitute for expert scientific review. Do not use foldfunc results to make clinical, diagnostic, or therapeutic decisions. Veldt Labs accepts no liability for decisions made on the basis of foldfunc outputs.

Acceptable use

You may use foldfunc for lawful research, education, and scientific analysis. You may not use foldfunc to:

• Design, assist, or advance the development of biological weapons or agents intended to cause harm
• Circumvent access controls or abuse the free tier to avoid paying for usage you are obligated to pay for
• Resell or redistribute the service without written permission
• Submit sequences that you do not have the rights to process
• Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or replicate the underlying model weights or infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend access for violations without notice.

Accuracy and reliability

Predictions from our structure prediction, mutation scoring, and AI interpretation models are state-of-the-art but not infallible. pLDDT scores, mutation effects, and AI interpretations carry inherent uncertainty. Always validate computationally derived insights through appropriate experimental methods before drawing scientific conclusions.

Intellectual property

You retain all rights to the protein sequences you submit. foldfunc does not claim ownership over your inputs or the analysis outputs returned to you. The foldfunc platform, interface, and branding are owned by Veldt Labs and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uptime. The free tier relies in part on third-party computational services which may introduce latency or temporary unavailability beyond our control. We are not liable for losses resulting from service interruptions.

Paid plans

Paid tiers (Researcher, Lab/Teams) are not yet available. When launched, billing terms, refund policy, and usage limits will be published here and communicated to affected users before taking effect.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Veldt Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of foldfunc, including but not limited to loss of data, research outcomes, or business opportunity. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced via the foldfunc website or by email if you have an account. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Veldt Labs is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles.
