Overview
foldfunc is a protein analysis tool. We collect the minimum data necessary to run the service. We do not sell your data, serve ads, or build profiles. This policy explains exactly what we collect, who sees it, and why.
What you submit
When you run an analysis, you provide:
- A protein sequence (amino acid string)
- An optional protein name
- Optional mutation positions
We do not require an account. We do not associate submissions with your identity unless you contact us directly.
Third-party processors
To run an analysis, your submitted data is routed to external computational services. By using foldfunc, you acknowledge this routing:
Structure prediction
Receives your protein sequence to generate a 3D structural model.
Mutation scoring
Receives your sequence and any specified mutation positions to compute per-site scores.
AI interpretation
Receives your sequence and protein name to generate a biological summary.
Literature retrieval
Receives your protein name as a search query against a public scientific database.
Hosting and delivery
Handles web requests and may log standard request metadata including IP addresses.
If your sequences are confidential or proprietary, we recommend reviewing the data retention policies of any external services before use. We do not control how third-party services handle data once it is transmitted to them.
Server logs
Our backend server records standard request logs (timestamp, endpoint, response status, approximate request size). Logs do not contain your sequence data. Logs are retained for up to 30 days for debugging purposes.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics. Our hosting provider may set functional cookies for edge routing. No behavioural profiling occurs.
Data retention
We do not store protein sequences, analysis results, or submitted inputs on our own servers beyond the duration of a single request. Once a response is returned to you, we hold no copy of what you submitted.
